Holiday Events to Celebrate On the Kitsap Peninsula

There are so many different events happening on the Kitsap Peninsula during the month of December. Why not take an extra day or two off and make it a nice long weekend? It is the holiday season and the perfect time to spend some quality, one-on-one time with family and friends and use some of those un-use vacation days on a little R&R. Cities and towns around the Kitsap Peninsula region are glowing with bright colored lights, festive window displays, and lots of holiday cheer to share with visiting family and friends. Celebrate holiday concerts, tree lightings, lighted boat parades, cultural celebrations, holiday entertainment and lots of parties in breweries, bars and clubs from Kingston to Port Orchard.

Friday – December 7 –  Magic In Manette – Santa Claus rolls into town on the fire truck at 5:15, at 7:00 sing carols and at 7:15 see the tree lighting. Activities for kids, shopping in smart little shops will put you in the holiday spirit.  Details at: facebook.com/ManetteBusinessAssociation/

Saturday – December 8
Bremerton Winterfest – Downtown – 4-8 pm
Stroll downtown museums, shops, & cafes to see exhibits and to enjoy holiday refreshments! Horse-drawn carriage rides 5 to 8 pm. Marching band arrives at 5:30, along with Santa via fire truck at the Puget Sound Navy Museum. Details at: portofbremerton.org/winterfest-2018

Bainbridge Island Winter Wonderland  – Annual family event features face painting, balloon clowns, holiday crafts, Santa, cider, cookies, lighted boat parade, S’mores with the Squad, ice sculptures, holiday music, and reindeer. FREE! Details at: biparks.org/special-events/

Bremerton Symphony Holiday Happenings – Maestro Alan Futterman and the Bremerton Symphony Orchestra are joined by Music Director LeeAnne Campos and the Bremerton Symphony Chorale for this lovely holiday music fest in Bremerton. Details at: bremertonsymphony.org/enjoy-our-music/calendar/

Friday – December 14 – Celebrate Gig Harbor’s Scandinavian heritage at Harbor History Museum’s 5th Annual Light Up the Night festivities. Crafts, games, and traditional Scandinavian snacks are the star at this family-friendly event. Details at: harborhistorymuseum.org/events/

December 15 – January 9 – Bloedel Holiday Village

Sunday, December 16 – Bremerton Symphony presents Handel’s Messiah
Under the baton of Maestro Alan Futterman, the Bremerton Symphony Chorale (Music Director LeeAnne Campos) and four brilliant regional soloists join the Bremerton Symphony Orchestra in this performance of Handel’s revered Messiah in a sacred, acoustically exquisite setting. December 20 & 22 – Bloedel Solstice Walks – December 21 & 23 – Bloedel Silent Walks

Friday – December 21Admiral Theatre – The Polar Express Movie

Wednesday – December 5Argosy Cruise Holiday Cruise
Starts at the Port of Poulsbo with carols sung by members of the North Kitsap Northern Lights Choir. The majestic ship sails around Liberty Bay, Lemolo, Suquamish and back to the port. Details at: argosycruises.com/
